Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's soccer team earned the #6 overall seed for the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament and will square off against the third-seeded Michigan Tech Huskies on Tuesday (Nov. 1) afternoon.

The Bulldogs will visit the Huskies for a tournament quarterfinal-round contest on Tuesday with match time set for 2 p.m. (ET) at MTU's Sherman Field in Houghton.

Along with the FSU-MTU contest, the three other league tournament quarterfianls include second-seeded Ashland hosting seventh-seeded Walsh (3 p.m.), fifth-seeded Northwood visiting fourth-seeded Ohio Dominican (4 p.m.) and top-seeded Grand Valley State welcoming eighth-seeded Northern Michigan (2 p.m.).

The top remaining seed following quarterfinal-round play will then host the league tournament semifinals and finals on Friday, Nov. 4, and Sunday, Nov. 6. The semifinals will take place on Friday at times to be announced with the league final set for Sunday.

Ferris State finished the regular-season tied for fifth overall with 16 points in the league standings before falling to sixth in the league's tiebreaker formula. FSU posted a 6-7-4 regular-season record and went 4-3-4 in league action this fall.

Prior to last Friday's 3-1 regular-season finale loss to GVSU, Ferris State had only a single loss and had recorded a 4-1-4 overall record in its previous nine outings while giving up only two total goals in that span. FSU was the only school in the conference to register a goal against the three-time defending national champion Lakers in GLIAC regular-season play.

The Bulldogs will be making their seventh consecutive GLIAC Tournament appearance this season and ninth overall in program history. FSU has advanced to the conference semifinals three times in the last four years to date.

Ferris State and Michigan Tech met once this year in league regular-season play with the Huskies scoring a 1-0 victory at Sherman Field. MTU enters the contest with a 10-3-3 overall record after going 6-2-3 in conference action for third place during the regular-season.
