Big Rapids, Mich. - Two members of the Ferris State University women's soccer squad have been chosen as 2019 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-Midwest Region First Team honorees.

Bulldog sophomore forward Pia Nagel (Karlsruhe, Germany) and junior midfielder Bri Rogers (Livonia) were both among recipients announced for the all-region team. FSU and league champion Grand Valley State were the only schools from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) to have representation on the region's top team.

Previously, both Nagel and Rogers were all-region second team choices a year ago for the Bulldogs.

The teams were voted on by the region's Sports Information Directors. The 13 first-team honorees will now advance to the national ballot, and the announcement and distribution of the All-American Teams will be Dec. 11, 2019.

The D2CCA encourages and promotes DII athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact DII intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA DII member colleges and universities.

This season, Nagel ranked as the Bulldogs leading scorer with a team-high 33 points on 13 goals and seven assists in 20 contests. Her totals also included three game-winners and she ranked as one of the league's top goal scorers and point producers this year.

Rogers appeared in all 20 games and totaled 18 points on six goals and six assists as FSU's third-leading scorer this season. She also notched a game-winner and had two penalty kick goals for the Bulldogs. In addition, she was also named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team.

This fall, the Bulldogs compiled a 13-5-2 overall record under first-year head coach Greg Henson while placing in the top four in the GLIAC with a 5-3-1 league record. Four of the Bulldogs' five losses this year came against teams that were ranked near the top of the region this season.

Along with the top four league finish, the Bulldogs also reached the GLIAC Tournament for the 10th consecutive year and earned the right to host a quarterfinal-round home contest.

A total of 26 of the Bulldogs' 33 squad members are eligible to return in 2020 as FSU had only seven seniors this fall.
