Ferris State Rolls Past Southern Indiana In Regional Action In Florida

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team picked up a key regional triumph in neutral site action on Wednesday (March 11) as the Bulldogs topped Southern Indiana by an 8-1 score in Cocoa Beach, Fla.

The Bulldogs won the regional encounter at the Racket Club of Cocoa Beach by sweeping the doubles round and capturing all but one of the six singles flights.

Ferris State improved to 16-8 overall this season with the win while USI fell to 7-3 on the year.

FSU rolled to three decisive wins in doubles play as the Bulldogs posted victories of 8-2, 8-0 and 8-5 at the first, second and third positions, respectively.

In singles action, Ferris State recorded five wins and all came in straight-sets in impressive fashion. The lone setback came at third singles where USI's Elizabeth Wilm netted the lone victory of the day for the Screaming Eagles.

Ferris State had a total of six different individuals pick up wins on the day and five were double winners on the day.

FSU, which has won three of its last four outings to date, wraps up its annual spring trip by visiting Florida Southern on Thursday (March 12) for a 2 p.m. (ET) encounter in the Sunshine State.
