Bulldog Women's Tennis Beats Charleston In Neutral Site Match In Florida

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team won for the third time in its last four matches as the Bulldogs picked up a decisive 8-1 victory over Charleston (W.Va.) in a battle between regionally-ranked teams on Tuesday (March 8) in Tampa, Fla.

The Bulldogs improved to 14-6 overall this season by stopping Charleston, which is ranked fifth in the Atlantic Region, in the neutral site match. FSU is presently seventh in the Midwest Regional listing.

Ferris State swept the doubles round and took five of the six singles flights in notching the win as Charleston dropped to 12-4 on the year.

The lone win for Charleston came at the number three singles position in a three-set contest.

The match was the second for the Bulldog women's squad on its annual spring trip to Florida. FSU resumes action again on Wednesday (March 9) at Saint Leo (Fla.) starting at 2 p.m. (ET) before wrapping up the trip on Thursday (March 10) against Hillsborough CC in Tampa at 8:30 a.m. (ET).
