NCAA D1 Host Eastern Michigan Takes Two From Ferris State In Women's Tennis Exhibition Play
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team took the court on Saturday (Jan. 18) at NCAA Division I Eastern Michigan, falling two the Eagles in a pair of exhibition tilts.
Host EMU captured a 7-0 win over the Bulldogs in the opener and then notched a 4-0 decision in the second match of the day.
"We played two matches today against Eastern Michigan," said FSU head coach Mark Doren. "This is exactly why we play exhibitions against division one schools. We got so much needed experience and I was so impressed with the fight from our whole team today. The scores don't do it justice of how well we played."
In the opening match, the Eagles pulled out the three doubles wins and captured the six singles positions in straight-sets despite a valiant effort from the Bulldogs. EMU then went on to win by a 4-0 score in the second encounter at the Chippewa Club in Ypsilanti.
Ferris State will wrap up its weekend of action with another NCAA D1 exhibition tilt on Sunday (Jan. 19) at Western Michigan.
