Ferris State Tennis Picks Up Two Wins Over League Newcomer Roosevelt

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's tennis squads closed out the weekend with a pair of decisive wins over Roosevelt on Saturday (April 12) near Chicago.

The Bulldog women claimed a 6-1 win over the Lakers while the men captured a 5-2 win against the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) newcomer.

With the two wins, both teams are now 11-6 on the year. The women now hold a 6-1 mark in conference play and the men are 5-1 in the GLIAC.

In the women's match, Ferris State took two of the three doubles flights for the initial point and then went on to win five of six singles positions.

Meanwhile, the men's squad also picked up the doubles point by taking the first and third flights in the doubles lineup. In singles play, the Bulldogs won the top three flights and also got a win at six singles for the victory.

The Bulldogs will close out GLIAC regular-season play on the road Friday, April 18, versus Wayne State in Detroit. The conference showdown begins at 10 a.m. (ET) for the women and 2 p.m. (ET) for the men.
