Big Rapids, Mich. - The nation's 18th-ranked Ferris State University Bulldogs stayed unbeaten this volleyball season with a 3-0 sweep over Texas A&M International on Friday (Sept. 6) afternoon in Canyon, Texas.
The Bulldogs, who toppled third-ranked West Texas A&M the previous night, picked up right where they left off at the BritKare Lady Buff Classic by taking a 25-17, 25-18, 25-16 win over the Dust Devils. The match took place at the West Texas A&M Fieldhouse or "The Box".
Ferris State improved to 2-0 overall in tourney play as FSU compiled 40 kills and only 11 attack errors on 97 tries for a .299 hitting figure. The Bulldogs also totaled 39 digs , seven service aces, four block assists and three solo blocks.
The win featured a balanced effort by the Bulldogs, who went deep in the lineup. Seniors Claire Nowicki and Chelsie Freeman had a team-high eight kills each while both Kaylee Maat and Olivia Henneman-Dallape finished with six kills apiece.
Maat added 21 assists for FSU while senior libero Leah Bylut finished with 10 digs.
The Bulldogs held Texas A&M International to only a .022 attack percentage as the Dust Devils compiled only 25 kills with 23 attack errors on 91 attempts. They netted 38 digs and had four block assists with two aces.
Ferris State will wrap up the event on Saturday (Sept. 7) versus West Virginia State starting at 10 a.m. (ET).
