"Battle At The Ballpark" Blitz - Live Online Chat

Big Rapids, Mich. - The sixth edition of the "Bulldog Blitz" live online weekly chat covering Ferris State University football will take place this Wednesday (Sept. 30) evening with a primary focus on this week's "Battle At The Ballpark" clash between FSU and the Michigan Tech Huskies at Fifth Third Ballpark.

This week's chat will offer a complete preview of the "Battle At The Ballpark" including a look at pregame activities, special events and the game between the two GLIAC counterparts.

The chat will start at 8 p.m. (EDT) and can be found on the official FSU Athletics Website at www.ferrisstatebulldogs.com.  In addition to the a look at the Bulldogs, a review of last week's conference games and a preview of this week's GLIAC slate will also take place.

The chat, which is powered by a service called CoverItLive, is co-hosted by FSU Associate Athletics Communications Director/Football SID Rob Bentley and local journalist Sandy Gholston, who works in the school's University Advancement and Marketing Department and has covered Bulldog football locally for more than 13 years.

Each of the first five live chats this season have lasted for more than 90 minutes.  The chat has included as many as 85 live viewers with readers supplying more than 100 comments and questions on average per episode.  Additionally, more than 50 people per show have also logged on to watch the replay version of each chat.

"Bulldog Blitz" is available by visiting the official FSU Athletics Website and clicking on the "Bulldog Blitz" banner icon, which is available by scrolling down the football team page. No sign-up for fans is necessary.

The chat will take place each Wednesday at 8 p.m. (ET) throughout the season with a discussion on previous contests and a preview of the week ahead.  Each episode is expected to last at least a half-hour in length.

In addition to comments from the show hosts, Bulldog fans also have the opportunity to ask questions, which are reviewed for content before they are posted by the site administrator.  Fans will also be able to participate in live fan polls during the chat and view photos posted within the discussion.

A unique feature of the CoverItLive service is the ability for fans to replay what has been said after the chat is over with each show archived for viewing.  Email reminders can also be set for those wanting to be reminded of the upcoming chat before it happens.
