Big Rapids, Mich. - Revised team rosters have been announced for the Ferris State University football squad's 2013 Crimson and Gold Spring Game, which takes place on Saturday (April 20) at Top Taggart Field. Kickoff for the annual event is set for 1 p.m. (ET) and admission is free.

Players were divided by position into two respective teams with one squad wearing the Bulldogs' traditional red home jerseys and the other team donning the white road jerseys.  Rosters were modified slightly after weather delayed the event one week.

The red team will be guided by assistant coach Bart Estola, who works with the defensive backs.  His assistants will include new defensive coordinator Lou Esposito, quarterbacks coach/offensive coordinator Ryan Brady, wide receivers coach Sparky McEwen along with assistant offensive line coach Joe Morse in addition to student assistant Scott McDougall.

Meanwhile, special teams coach Jack Schugars will lead the white team on Saturday with assistance from assistant head coach Rob Zeitman, defensive backs coach Ryan Hodges, defensive line coach Andy Tevlin, running backs coach Brad Corpe in addition to assistants Steve Annese and Trent Hockemeyer.

Returning veteran Taylor Masiewicz will quarterback the white team with redshirt freshman Trevor Bermingham calling the signals for the red team.

Ferris State will begin its traditional "Bulldog Walk" at 12:10 p.m. (ET) with warmups starting for the spring game at 12:15 p.m. at Top Taggart Field.  The coin toss will be held at noon.

Additionally, the spring game will feature a modified scoring format with turnovers couting as three points and a first down garnering one point in addition to traditional scoring by touchdown (six points), field goal (three points), two-point conversion (two points) and extra point (one point).

Special teams action will not be live and the ball will be placed at the 25-yard line on kickoffs or the spot received on fair catch punts as part of the modified format.

The contest will feature four 20-minute running clock quarters along with an eight-minute halftime.  FSU head coach Tony Annese will reserve the right to make any clock or scoring adjustments as necessary during the scrimmage.

The Crimson & Gold Spring Game will continue FSU's official spring practice drills.  The Bulldogs opened the spring workouts on March 22 and the slate includes a total of 15 workouts per NCAA regulations.

In his first season at the Bulldog helm last fall, Annese guided Ferris State to a 7-4 overall mark and FSU ranked among the nation's top teams in both rushing offense and total offense.

In 2012, the Bulldogs recorded several impressive wins under Annese's direction, including beating archrival Grand Valley State in the Anchor-Bone Classic for the first time since 1999, snapping a 10-year losing streak to Michigan Tech and topping defending national runner-up Wayne State for the first time in five years.  FSU also managed to win seven games for only the second time in the past decade despite facing one of the nation's two toughest schedules in Division II football during the regular-season, according to the Massey Ratings.

Besides putting together an impressive debut season with the Bulldogs, Annese and his staff also recently inked what many consider to be one of the nation's top incoming recruiting classes in Division II football.

This year's Crimson & Gold Spring game will follow the annual "Big Event", which is an important citywide cleanup initiative that involves student organizations.  Nearly 2,000 students are expected to participate in the effort and help clean up approximately 300 residences in the community.
