Big Rapids, Mich. - Registrations are currently being accepted for the 30th annual Ferris State University Football Golf Outing, which will be held Saturday, June 1, at Falcon Head Golf Club in Big Rapids, Mich.

The four-person shotgun golf scramble, which is sponsored by the FSU Gridiron Club in conjunction with the Bulldog Athletic Association (BAA), serves as one of the Ferris State football program's primary fundraising events. The shotgun start will be held on a first-come, first-serve basis with all activities this year taking place at Falcon Head Golf Club.

The Bulldog Football golf outing is coming off a record-breaking year in 2012 and the historic 30th anniversary event will not be one to miss.  FSU is celebrating a strong debut season last fall under head coach Tony Annese and the event helps kick off the anticipation for the 2013 campaign.

The weekend will kick off with a social evening on Friday night at the Buffalo Wild Wings location in Big Rapids.  The event will offer former Bulldog players and supporters an opportunity to meet with the current FSU staff and others.  Appetizers will be served starting at 7 p.m. (ET) with the event running throughout the night.

Then, on Saturday, the golf outing gets underway with registration starting at 7:30 a.m. (ET).  The driving range will be open until 8:30 a.m. followed by announcements and a shotgun start at 9 a.m. (ET).  The dinner will be served in the clubhouse at Falcon Head at approximately 2 p.m. (ET) with door prizes and awards taking place at 2:30 p.m. (ET).

A great package of team and individual prizes will be awarded for winners in several divisions, including one for former Bulldog players, men's open, women's open and mixed divisions.  Women will be allowed to hit from the red tees.

The cost for this year's event is $100 per player for golf and dinner, which also includes greens feeds and a power cart.  In addition, hole sponsorships are available with a Basic Hole Sponsorship costing $100 or a Hall of Fame sponsorship running for $300.  A table sponsor is $75 and the cost for those wishing to attend the dinner only is $35.

Contributions and proceeds from the event directly contribute to the continued success of the Ferris State football program.

Individuals are encouraged to submit their registration forms along with complete payment as soon as possible or by May 29 to guarantee participation in the football golf outing. Checks may be made payable to Ferris State University.

In his first season at the Bulldog helm last fall, Annese guided Ferris State to a 7-4 overall mark and FSU ranked among the nation's top teams in both rushing offense and total offense.

In 2012, the Bulldogs recorded several impressive wins under Annese's direction, including beating archrival Grand Valley State in the Anchor-Bone Classic for the first time since 1999, snapping a 10-year losing streak to Michigan Tech and topping defending national runner-up Wayne State for the first time in five years.  FSU also managed to win seven games for only the second time in the past decade despite facing one of the nation's two toughest schedules in Division II football during the regular-season, according to the Massey Ratings.

Besides putting together an impressive debut season with the Bulldogs, Annese and his staff also recently inked what many consider to be one of the nation's top incoming recruiting classes in Division II football.
