Ferris State Football Golf Outing Officially SOLD OUT!

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University's 38th annual Football Golf Outing, which is set to take place this Saturday (June 26) at Clear Lake Golf Club near Big Rapids, is officially SOLD OUT as the Bulldogs are again expecting one of their largest turnouts ever for the afternoon event.

The four-person shotgun scramble, which is sponsored by the FSU Gridiron Club in conjunction with the Bulldog Athletic Association (BAA), serves as one of the Ferris State football program's primary fundraising events.

The Bulldog Football golf outing returns to Clear Lake for the eighth-straight year after a strong turnout each of the past seven years, which has helped create momentum for FSU's six consecutive NCAA postseason playoff appearances.

The golf outing will get underway with registration and lunch starting at 11 a.m. (ET). The rules meeting will begin shortly after with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. (ET). Following golf will be a cocktail hour with the evening dinner served in the clubhouse at Clear Lake at approximately 6:30 p.m. (ET). Door prizes, auction, raffle and awards will follow the evening meal with a social at Buffalo Wild Wings in Big Rapids later in the evening. A great package of team and individual prizes will be awarded for winners in several divisions.

While the golf outing is sold out, several sponsorship packages remain available for those wishing to support the Bulldogs and the Gridiron Club membership drive is also currently underway for the 2021 season. Contributions and proceeds from the event directly contribute to the continued success of the Ferris State football program.

For questions about this year's golf outing, please contact Football Golf Outing Chair Bill Scheible at 231-796-7135 (work) or 231-349-6440 (cell) or each out to Coordinator of Corporate Sales and Advancement Jake Daugherty at (231) 591-2411 or by email at: JakeDaugherty@ferris.edu.

The Bulldogs, who did not compete in the fall 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic when no NCAA Championships were held, are expected to return a strong nucleus from their 2019 national semifinal squad for the upcoming 2021 campaign. FSU is currently tabbed third nationally in the Lindy's Sports Division II Preseason National Rankings.

FSU will open the 2021 season at home against the Findlay Oilers on Thursday, Sept. 2, at Top Taggart Field. Additional information on official kickoff times and ticket information for the fall slate will be announced in the near future.
