Ferris State Officially Wraps Up Spring Football Drills With Spirited Spring Game

Big Rapids, Mich. - The contest came down to the wire with the White Team holding off the Red Team 43-35 in the annual Crimson & Gold Spring Football Game hosted by Ferris State University on Friday evening at Top Taggart Field.

The back-to-back NCAA Division II National Champion Bulldogs officially wrapped up spring practice drills with a competitive event that also included several presentations and games involving other FSU teams.

The annual spring game provided fans with an opportunity to watch the Bulldogs for the first time since FSU's run to the national championship last fall in a game-like situation under head coach Tony Annese and his staff. The spring game featured a modified scoring and timing format and provided an opportunity for many of FSU's younger players to take the field for the first time while wrapping up spring drills. Many of Ferris State's returning veterans did not play or saw limited action in the contest.

The Bulldogs captured a second consecutive NCAA Division II National Championship this past fall and are 28-1 overall in the past two seasons of action. FSU has made eight-straight NCAA D2 Playoff appearances to date.

Stay tuned for a complete recap and more postgame coverage coming soon!
