Bulldogs Honor 2022 Title Team During Special National Championship Ring Ceremony

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University and the Bulldog Football program officially presented and recognized members of the school's second consecutive NCAA Division II National Championship squad from this past fall on Saturday (April 22) during a special National Championship Ring Ceremony held at the David L. Eisler Center on the FSU campus.

The event honored the Bulldogs' 2022 NCAA Division II Football National Championship team and featured a sellout crowd of alumni, family, fans and friends along with various administrators.

During the event, which took place the day following FSU's annual Crimson & Gold Spring Game, the Bulldogs presented national championship rings to coaches and student-athletes from this past fall's squad. Head Coach Tony Annese spoke to the crowd along with key administrators including FSU President Dr. Bill Pink and Athletic Director Steve Brockelbank. Special thanks was also given to members of the Ferris Foundation along with alum Jeff Schmitz for their support in assisting with costs for the championship rings.

Additionally, the Gene Upshaw Division II Lineman of the Year honor was also officially presented to senior defensive end and NFL Draft prospect Caleb Murphy during the celebration.

The Bulldogs capped off a second-straight national championship with a decisive 41-14 win over the Colorado School of Mines on Dec. 17 in McKinney, Texas, finishing the year with a 14-1 overall record.
