Men's Golf Tied For Sixth At Midwest/South Central Regional

The Ferris State University men's golf team will hope to make up ground in this Wednesday's (May 5) final round of the 2010 NCAA Division II Midwest/South Central Regional Championship, which is being held at The Territory Golf & Country Club in Duncan, Okla., after slipping from third into sixth place following the first two rounds. 

Ferris State is currently tied with Drury for sixth place as both teams have registered 31-over par 607 team strokes totals following two rounds of play.  The Bulldogs started out strong with a 287 score in Monday's (May 3) opening round before carding a 320 score in Tuesday's (May 4) second round.  Wayne State is tops among the 20 team competing with an 18-over 594 score while Central Missouri and Cameron are both tied for second place as a result of recording 600 team scores (+24).

Senior Eric Lilleboe (Okemos/Lansing Catholic Central) is presently Ferris State's top golfer with a 19th-place tying 149 score (68-81=149, +5).  Senior Garrett Simons (Grand Ledge) slipped from a sixth-place tie to a 29th-place tie after shooting a second-round 81 score and is at 151 (70-81=151, +7) following 36 holes of play. 

Senior Kurt Valley (Bay City/Western) turned in a productive second round by firing a 74 score and currently has compiled a nine-over par 153 (79-74=153, +9).  Valley is among six individuals to gain a share of 43rd place after two rounds as the Bulldog golfer began today's action midst an 81st-place tie.

Junior Joe Brown (St. Ignace/LaSalle) is four strokes in back of Kurt Valley with a 157 (70-87=157, +13) while senior Craig Burrows (Broadview Heights, Ohio/Olmstead Falls) is tied for 95th place after chalking up a 163 (79-84=163, +19).
