Big Rapids, Mich. - A pair of Ferris State University golfers have claimed All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) honors for the 2015-16 campaign as the league unveiled its postseason award recipients.

On the men's side, sophomore Jack Weller (Swartz Creek) received All-GLIAC Second Team laurels while senior Libby Berens (Zeeland/Holland Christian) garnered honorable mention accolades on the women's side.

All-GLIAC selections are based upon a player's stroke average in their selected best rounds in league competition, including the three rounds of the GLIAC Tournament.

This year represents the third time in her career in which Berens has claimed all-league recognition as she was previously chosen to the honorable mention team as a freshman in 2012-13 before also garnering honorable mention accolades last year as a junior.

Meanwhile, this year marks the first time in his collegiate career in which Weller has attained all-league kudos.

This season, Weller placed among the top 25 golfers in six tournaments, including four-straight in the fall. He was the runner-up at the NCAA Midwest Region #2 event and finished with six showings among the top 10 in tournament action. The two-year letterwinner placed 37th last week at the 2016 GLIAC Championships.

Berens, a four-year letterwinner, placed among the top 20 golfers six times overall during the 2015-16 season with a total of three top-15 finishes, including a season-best share of fifth place at the Ashland Invitational in the fall campaign. This past weekend, she led FSU with a share of 16th place overall at the 2016 GLIAC Women's Championships held at The Meadows Golf Course in Allendale.

The Ferris State men's golf team has received its 14th consecutive NCAA Tournament bid and will take part in the 2016 Midwest/Central Super Regional, which will take place May 2-4 at The Meadows Golf Course in Allendale. Ferris State's current 14-year NCAA Championship appearance streak in men's golf ranks as one of the longest active stretches in the country.

The Bulldog men placed fourth overall in this year's GLIAC Championships while the women captured fifth place at the league tournament as both teams placed well into the upper half at the conference championships.
