Ferris State Men's Golf Lowers Score In Round Two At GLIAC Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team improved its score by five strokes in day two play on Saturday (April 21) in the 2018 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships at The Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio.

After carding a first-round 321 team figure on Friday, FSU came back with a 316 score in Saturday's second round of the 54-hole event on the par 72 course measuring 7,243 yards. Overall, a total of less than 45 strokes seperate the 11 teams in the league tournament field.

The Bulldogs' Andrew Hammett, who was the day one leader after shooting a one-over 73 in the first 18 holes, is now tied for fourth overall at 148 for the first 36 holes after shooting a 75 in round two.

Meanwhile, Jason Martinus is presently tied for 36th at 159 for the tournament to date. He followed up his first-round 84 with an impressive 75 in day two competition.

FSU's Andrew Proctor is 47th overall at 165 after notching an 84 in round two on the heels of a day one 81 score.

Next, the Bulldogs' Humml Felix shot his second-straight round of 83 and is tied for 48th at 166 with Brad Walling presently tied for 53rd for Ferris State at 169 overall. Walling shot an 83 as well on Saturday after posting a first-round 86 figure.

Final round play at the 2018 GLIAC Championships is set for Sunday (April 22) at The Virtues Golf Club.
