Men's Golf Finishes Tied For Seventh In Findlay Spring Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team moved up four spots in the final round and came away with a share of seventh place overall as action concluded on Tuesday (March 28) at the Findlay Spring Invitational held in Lexington, Ky.

FSU shot a first-round 293 score followed by a 294 total in round two before wrapping up the 54-hole event with a 289 in Tuesday's final 18 holes of competition at the University Club of Kentucky Course. Overall, the Bulldogs shot a 12-over par 876 figure in the field of 19 squads.

Ferris State was led by Joshua Jeffords, who shot a 215 total for the three rounds and placed tied for ninth individually on the par 72 course. He opened with a two-under par 70 before coming back with an even-par 72 and a one-over 73 figure in the final round.

Teammate Thomas Hursey was only a stroke behind Jeffords and placed tied for 12th in the field at 216 for the tournament. Hursey carded a 72 in round one followed by a 73 in the second round and a one-under 71 in round three.

Meanwhile, Nathan Kraynyk placed tied for 53rd overall at 224 with rounds of 78, 75 and 71 overall from start to finish, bettering his score each round.

FSU's Zach Koerner finished tied for 60th in the field at 225 for the event, shooting a first-round 73 followed by a 74 and a 78 to close the event.

Finally, the Bulldogs' Shayne Beaufait wound up tied for 95th overall with a 235 figure on rounds of 78, 83 and 74 for the tournament.

The Bulldogs will head to Ohio to take part in The Cav Classic on April 4-5 in Canton, Ohio.
