Bulldog Men's Golf Moves Up Two Spots To Finish Eighth On Final Day Of Doc Spragg Fall Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team moved up two spots in the final round of the annual Doc Spragg Fall Invitational held on Tuesday (Sept. 20) in Findlay, Ohio.

The Bulldogs shot a final-round 289 score to conclude the 54-hole event at 869 overall after previously shooting scores of 293 and 287 in the opening two rounds on Monday at the Findlay Country Club. The event was hosted by the University of Findlay on the par 72 course measuring 6,747 total yards.

FSU finished +5 for the tournament after shooting one-over par in the final round and wrapped up play in the upper half of the 17-team event. The tournament was won by Grand Valley State (-24) with Findlay second (-19) and Wayne State third (-14).

The Bulldogs were led by Nathan Kraynyk, who came in tied for 18th overall at 216 for the three rounds of action. He shot a 77 in the final round on Tuesday after carding scores of 68 and 71 in Monday's competition.

Behind Kraynyk was Zach Koerner for the Bulldogs in a share of 28th place overall. He wrapped up action with a 218 score, shooting a four-under par 68 in the final round after notching a 74 and a 76 in the first two rounds.

Meanwhile, Daniel Shattuck shot a one-over 73 in the last round and tied for 33rd at 219 for the event. He previously shot scores of 80 and a six-under 66 on Monday.

FSU's Caleb Bond matched Shattuck for a share of 33rd place at 219 overall. Bond shot a one-under 71 on Tuesday after posting back-to-back 74 scores on day one.

Finally, Shayne Beaufait came in tied for 88th overall with a 234 score, shooting a 79 on Tuesday following scores of 77 and 78 on Monday.

The Bulldogs will next be in action on Oct. 3-4 at the Kyle Ryman Memorial hosted by Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio.
