FSU Starts Strong In Day One Action At Fall Midwest Regional In Missouri

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team started strong on Monday (Oct. 9) as play unfolded with day one action at the Midwest Fall Regional in St. Albans, Mo.

The Bulldogs concluded day one play with a 592 overall team total thru two rounds of action at +16 and sit third in the 18-team field. FSU is only a shot out of second place behind William Jewell.

Play was halted on Monday in round two due to darkness with several groups still on the course. FSU finished both of its rounds, shooting a 293 in round one and a 299 in the second round.

Presently, Tiffin leads the field at +6 overall although the Dragons did not conclude the second round nor did William Jewell, which is at +15 thus far. The second round play will be wrapped up on Tuesday before the final round takes place.

Individually, FSU's Caleb Bond is currently tied for fourth place overall with a 145 score. He shot a four-under 68 in the opening round on the par 72 layout before coming back with a 77 in round two.

The Bulldogs' Nathan Kraynyk fired a 75 in round one and a 74 in round two for a 149 total and is tied for 17th along with teammate Zach Koerner, who also posted a 149 with a score of 77 to open the day followed by an even-par 72.

Ferris State's McCoy Biagioli came in tied for 27th after his second round, shooting a 75 over the first 18 holes and a 76 in round two for a 151 figure.

Finally, Adam Arif Madzri also noted a 75 in the first round and came back with a 77 for a 152 score, placing tied for 31st in the field to date.

The event includes teams from across the region and is being contested at the Country Club of St. Albans with a course measurement of 7,005 yards.

The final 18 holes of the 54-hole event will take place on Tuesday following the completion of the second round.
