CCHA Academic Awards Announced, Bulldogs Lead CCHA in All-Academic Selections

Big Rapids, Mich. - Tied with one other team, a Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) leading 20 Ferris State University men's ice hockey players were named to the All-Academic Team, with six earning Scholar Athlete honors.

The CCHA's All-Academic team is earned with a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or better, including sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate level students.

Ferris State All-Academic Team Selections: Jacon Dirks, Drew Cooper, Mitch Deelstra, Kaleb Ergang, Luke Farthing, Noah Giesbrecht, Brenden MacLaren, Bradley Marek, Nick Nardecchia, Stepan Pokorny, Matt Slick, Logan Stein, Dallas Tulik, Antonio Venuto.

Scholar Athletes are honored for a 3.5 cumulative GPA or better, again including sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate level students.

Ferris State Scholar Athlete Award Winners (3.5 GPA or higher, sophomores and up only): Blake Evennou, Nick Grimaldi, Cade Kowalski, Austin McCarthy, Brenden Rons, Ben Schultheis.

The majority of Ferris State's academic honorees from the 2022-23 season are slated to return for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
