Ferris State Cross Country's Andrew Harper Tabbed As GLIAC Athlete Of The Week

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University runner Andrew Harper (Saline) has been chosen as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for his efforts on the course last week.

Harper earned the league's weekly nod after placing 12th overall in a time of 25:59.1 on an 8K course at the Brissman/Lundeen Invitational hosted by Augustana College (Ill.) on Friday (Sept. 26) at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Ill.

His performance helped the Bulldog men's squad to a runner-up team finish in event with 77 total points, which was only three behind champion University of Chicago in the 39-team field.

Behind Harper came FSU's Kyle Richardson a few spots behind in 15th place (25:34.1). Lucas Copi placed 17th overall (25:35.8) followed by Logan Hammer in 19th place (25:39.9) and Spencer Gerber in 24th place (25:46.5) as five FSU runners finished in the top 25 overall of more than 530 runners taking part in the event.

The Bulldogs will next be back in action this Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Northwood Invitational in Midland, Mich.
