Ferris State Cross Country Teams Run Strong At Spartan Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's cross country teams returned to the course on Friday (Sept. 15), competing in the Michigan State Spartan Invitational in East Lansing.

The Bulldog women's squad came away with a fifth-place team finish while the men took eighth place overall in a competitive field.

Junior Danae Feldpausch led the women's squad by finishing 56th overall in a time of 23:26.1. Meanwhile, Becci Castillo was right behind her in 578th place at 23:27.7 and Whitney Farrell came in 63rd with a time of 23:31.5 on the 5K course.

FSU's Hanna Brock placed 70th (23:45.8) while Daisy Englund took 76th place (23:56.4) in the top five for the Bulldogs.

On the men's side, junior Noah Griffith paced the Bulldogs in a time of 26:20.5, which was good for 68th in the field. Senior Brandon Wirth was close behind in 71st place (26:24.6) with Cooper Sorsen 77th (26:29.5) followed by Ryan Ososki in 80th place (26:31.1) and Caleb Branch at 81st (26:32.2).

The Bulldogs will next compete in the Lansing Invite on Friday, Sept. 22.
