Cross Country Teams Race Into Action At GLIAC Championships

Houghton, Mich. – The Ferris State University cross country teams competed in the 2023 GLIAC Championships on Saturday, Oct. 21, in Houghton. The event was hosted by Michigan Tech University.

The men's team raced to a seventh-place finish, while the women checked in at eighth overall. Grand Valley State finished first in both the men's and women's races.

On the men's side, the top Bulldog finisher was Cooper Sorsen with a 38th place finish and time of 25:50.5. Caleb Branch finished in 45th place and had a time of 26:03.9. Brandon Wirth came in 50th at 26:15.6, followed closely by Noah Griffith in 54th with a time of 26:21.3. Ryan Ososki wrapped up the top five for FSU with a 59th place finish and a time of 26:26.6.

For the women's team, Hanna Brock was the first Bulldog to finish. She came in 41st place and had a time of 23:15.5. Danae Feldpausch came in at 23:24.3, good for 48th place. Whitney Farrell was right behind her at 23:31.4 in 51st place. Becci Castillo placed 55th and ran the course in 23:42.6. Daisy Englund rounded out the top five Bulldog finishers with a time of 23:53.3 in 61st place.

The Bulldogs will next be in action at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional on Nov. 4 in Evansville, Ind.
