Ferris State Women's Golf Opens Action At The Cav Classic In Ohio

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team shot a 327 team score in first round action on Monday (April 11) at The Cav Classic hosted by Walsh University in Canton, Ohio.

The Bulldogs opened the event with a +39 figure and sit 10th overall among the 15 competing teams heading into round two action on Tuesday morning. The tournament has been shortened to 36 total holes instead of 54 as only a single round will now take place on the final day at the Glenmoor Country Club.

Ferris State was led by Alayna Eldred, who presently sits tied for fifth individually after shooting a three-over par 75 in round one.

FSU's Hope Thebo posted a 83 and is tied for 40th after the first round with Abby Grevel tied for 48th on the strength of an 84 figure.

Meanwhile, Dani Staskowski was a shot back at 85 and is tied for 57th in the field while Lauren Kempf carded a 88 and is tied for 70th on the leaderboard.

The Bulldogs' Juanita De La Cruz also competed as an individual and came in tied for 65th following round one with an 87 score.
The final round play on Tuesday is set to begin at 9 a.m. (ET).
