Ferris State Women's Golf Wraps Up First Competition Of The Season

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team closed out its first action of the 2022-23 season on Tuesday (Sept. 13) at the UIndy Fall Invitational held in Carmel, Ind.

The Bulldogs shot a 316 figure in Tuesday's final 18 holes of action to finish 13th overall at +79 with a 943 total for the tournament, which was held at the Prairie View Golf Club on a par 72 course measuring in at 6,204 total yards.

The event was won by Dallas Baptist at -4 overall or 860 for the three rounds of action. Host Indianapolis took second place (882) with Findlay third (883) among the 17 competing schools.

The Bulldogs were led by Alayna Eldred, who finished tied for 33rd in the field with a 231 figure after carding a 77 in Tuesday's action.

Behind Eldred was Kamryn Shannon in a share of 43rd place as she shot a 79 over the final round to finish at 233 for the 54 holes of action.

FSU's Lizzie Anderson posted a 236 total with a final-round 77 and came in tied for 55th in the field while Dani Staskowski finished with an 83 on Tuesday and placed 71st at 243 for the three rounds.

Finally, Abby Grevel also notched an 83 over the final 18 holes and placed tied for 78th with a 248 total.

Ferris State's Susie Gietl competed as an individual and was 85th overall at 256, shooting an 88 on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs will next be in action on Saturday, Sept. 24, when they host their own Bulldog Invitational at Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids.
