FSU Women's Golf Currently Sixth After Day One At Findlay Spring Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team concluded day one action in sixth place overall at the Findlay Spring Invite, which began on Monday (March 20) at the University Club of Kentucky in Lexington.

In the Bulldogs' second-straight tourney this week in Kentucky, Ferris State carded a first-round 319 team figure. The teams played the opening round and more than half of the second round before darkness halted play with FSU sitting at +42 overall thru 11 holes of round two.

A total of 18 schools from across the region and elsewhere are competing in the event. Host Findlay carded a 302 team total in round one and is now in first place at +11 overall. Anderson (S.C.) sits second at +14 and Tiffin, which shot a first-round best 299 figure, in third at +17 thus far.

Individually, FSU's Kamryn Shannon is tied for 24th overall, shooting an 82 in round one and currently even in the second round. Meanwhile, Alayna Eldred notched a first-round 79 and is tied for 28th at +11 overall.

Eldred is tied for 28th with teammate Abby Grevel, who shot a first-round 78 and is now +5 in the second round. Behind her is Lizzie Anderson for FSU in a share of 49th place following a first-round 85 score. Currently, Anderson is +15 overall for the event.

Finally, Dani Staskowski fired an 80 in round one and is now tied for 58th at +18 for the tournament.

FSU's Susie Gietl is competing as an individual and is tied for 35th in the field. She recorded a first-round 79 and is now +12 to date.

The remainder of the second round along with round three is set for Tuesday (March 21).
