Bulldog Women's Golf Sits Third Overall After Day One Play At NC4K College Classic

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team had a strong start on Monday (April 3) at the NC4K College Classic hosted by Ohio Dominican University at the Jefferson Country Club in Blacklick, Ohio.

The Bulldogs shot a first-round 320 team figure and are currently third overall in the 12-team field on the par 72 course, which came in at 5,910 yards.

FSU is presently only 17 strokes off the lead, which is owned by Indianapolis with a 303 team total in round one. Tiffin shot a 310 figure and sits second overall in front of FSU.

Ferris State was led by Alayna Eldred in a share of 10th place overall with a 79 score in round one. Both Dani Staskowski and Susie Gietl shot an 80 and are tied for 15th on the leaderboard.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs' Kamryn Shannon fired an 81 and is tied for 23rd in the field with Abby Grevel currently tied for 60th with a first-round 88 score.

FSU's Lizzie Anderson competed as an individual and is tied for 15th overall with an 80 while Hope Thebo also saw action individually and shot a 88 for a share of 60th place.

Day two action begins on Tuesday (April 4) starting at 9:30 a.m. (ET).
