Ferris State Women's Golf Takes Third Overall At NC4K Classic

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team placed third overall as play concluded on Tuesday (April 4) at the NC4K Classic hosted by Ohio Dominican University at the Jefferson Country Club in Blacklick, Ohio.

FSU shot a 320 first-round figure followed by a 310 in round two to finish at 630 for the 36 holes of action. The Bulldogs trailed only champion Indianapolis (598) and runner-up Tiffin (607) in the 12-team field.

Ferris State was led by Alayna Eldred, who placed tied for 13th overall with a 155 figure on rounds of 79 Monday and 76 on Tuesday.

Behind Eldred in the FSU lineup was Kamryn Shannon, who fired a 75 in Tuesday's action to move up to 16th overall individually with a 156 total. She had shot an 81 in round one.

FSU's Dani Staskowski finished tied for 18th in the field with a 158 mark, notching scores of 80 in round one and 78 in round two.

Meanwhile, Ferris State's Susie Gietl came in tied for 25th on the leaderboard with a 161 score, registering a first-round 80 followed by a second-round 81 total.

Finally, Abby Grevel shot a 173, scoring rounds of 88 on Monday and 85 on Tuesday to finish tied for 58th overall.

The Bulldogs also had a pair of golfers compete individually with both Lizzie Anderson and Hope Thebo finishing tied for 35th. Anderson posted a round of 80 on Monday and an 85 Tuesday while Thebo followed up her first-round 88 score with a 77 on the final day. Both finished with 165 totals.

The Bulldogs return to the course on April 9-10 at the Missouri-St. Louis Spring Invite.
