Ferris State Women's Golf Beats GVSU To Reach GLIAC Championship Finals!

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team advanced to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship match as the Bulldogs defeated rival Grand Valley State in the head-to-head medal match play semifinals on Saturday (April 22) in Augusta, Mich.

FSU, which finished second overall in the 36-hole stroke play portion of the event on Friday to move into the semifinals, beat the Lakers 3-1-1 to garner the win.

With the triumph, Ferris State will next take on Saginaw Valley State on Sunday (April 23) in the league finals at Stonehenge Golf Club's North Course with tee times set for 10 a.m. (ET).

The Bulldogs captured three of the five head-to-head matches against the Lakers to go with a tie.

FSU's Abby Grevel won by four strokes for the Bulldogs while Dani Staskowski was a two-stroke winner and Alayna Eldred won her match by a single stroke. The Bulldogs also garnered a tie from Lizzie Anderson in the decision.

Overall, the Bulldog women's golf squad has captured four GLIAC Championships in school history heading and will be seeking its fifth time on Sunday.
