Women's Tennis Wins Third-Straight Match
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis
team remained unbeaten by picking up its third consecutive victory
to start the 2010-11 season with an 8-1 triumph over Tiffin in
Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play on
Saturday (Sept. 11) in Tiffin, Ohio.
The Bulldogs improved to both 3-0 overall and in league action
with their second win in as many days on the road.
FSU claimed the three doubles flights to take a 3-0 advantage
heading into singles play where they managed to win five of six
spots to put the match away.
The lone Dragon victory came at the number two singles flight were
Malaika Bora Messi topped FSU senior Amy Ingle by a
6-2, 2-6, 10-3 count. Ferris took the other five positions in
straight-sets.
The Bulldogs wrap up their three-match weekend road swing by
taking on Wayne State on Sunday, Sept. 12, with match time set for
11 a.m. (EDT) in Detroit, Mich.
