FSU Tops Ohio Dominican In League Home Tilt
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis
team won its second match in as many days as the Bulldogs rolled
past Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC)
newcomer Ohio Dominican on Friday (Oct. 7) in a league home match
at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center in Big Rapids.
The match was part of FSU's "Women In Sports Day" promotion.
Women and kids on hand were treated to a brief lesson, games and
more as part of the first-ever event involving home contests for
the Bulldog women's soccer, tennis and volleyball programs.
Ferris State treated the fans to a decisive victory in a key
conference encounter between the two schools.
The Bulldogs opened the match by winning all three doubles flights
with the closest score coming by virtue of an 8-6 triumph at the
number one flight.
FSU then took five of the six singles flights and all came in
straight-sets as FSU improved to 8-2 overall and in league
play.
Ohio Dominican dropped to 9-5 overall and 6-4in the GLIAC with
the setback.
Ferris State wraps up league regular-season play by hosting
another new league school in Lake Erie on Saturday (Oct. 9) morning
at 11 a.m. (EDT) at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center.
