Bulldog Women's Tennis Wins Second-Straight Match

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team wrapped up its first weekend of action by winning two of three matches as the Bulldogs topped Findlay 7-2 on Sunday (Sept. 9) to conclude action on the road.

FSU took the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) encounter to improve to 2-1 overall this year.  It was also the second-straight win for the Bulldogs under first-year head coach Chad Berryhill.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the doubles round as they swept the tandem action.  The closest of the three doubles affairs was by an 8-5 score at the second spot in the lineup.

In singles competition, Ferris State posted wins at the numbers one, four, five and six positions.  The results included a three-set victory for Ana Jan at the number one flight.  Sydnie Sine, Janie Sell and Julia Fusik were also winners in singles action for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs will return home for four-straight league matches at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center in Big Rapids.  The home opener is on Friday, Sept. 14, at 3 p.m. (ET) as Lake Erie comes to town.  FSU then hosts league newcomers Malone and Walsh on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 15-16), respectively.
