Women's Tennis Suffers Road Setback Against The Lewis Flyers
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis squad hit the court for its final scheduled regular-season match this season, but the Bulldogs came out on the short end of an 8-1 regional decision on the road at Lewis (Ill.) in Romeoville, Ill.
The Flyers, who are ranked third in the Midwest Region and 41st nationally, captured two of the three doubles flights to build a 2-1 edge heading into singles play against FSU, which entered the match ranked 10th regionally.
In singles play, though, Lewis managed to win all six flights in straight-sets as the Flyers improved to 12-3 overall this year.
Ferris State fell to 12-9 overall on the season in what represented the Bulldogs' third match of the spring semester.
FSU's lone win came at two doubles from the tandem of Ana Jan and Janie Sell by a 9-8 (5-0) score.
