Women's Tennis Storms Past Malone In GLIAC Action
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team hit the court for the first time on Saturday (Sept. 7) and came up with a 9-0 shutout victory on the road in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) action versus Malone in Canton, Ohio.
The Bulldogs rolled to the win at the Harvard Courts in Canton on Saturday afternoon to improve to 2-0 on the year. FSU's first victory was a forfeit triumph on Friday against Lake Erie.
Malone fell to 0-2 overall this campaign with the setback.
FSU swept the six singles flights with all coming in straight-sets. The closest doubles score was a 8-4 decision at number one doubles by the Bulldogs' Ana Jan and Janie Sell.
They were both double winners on the day as were Laurence LeBlanc, Julie Fusik and Gabrielle Demchenko. Additionally, FSU also received a single win apiece from both Jessica Wilcox and Sydney Berens.
The Bulldogs are back in action again on Sunday (Sept. 8) as they close out their weekend road trip by facing Walsh at 10 a.m. (ET) in Canton.
