Ferris State Women's Tennis Pulls Out Narrow Win Over Michigan Tech

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team picked up its second-straight victory in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play as the Bulldogs pulled out a hard-fought 5-4 win over visiting Michigan Tech on Friday (Sept. 20) afternoon at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center.

The win lifted the Bulldogs to 5-4 overall and in league play this campaign.

FSU won both the second and third doubles flights to build a 2-1 lead heading into singles action.  

In singles play, the Huskies managed to win the top two positions along with the fourth flight, but FSU captured victories at three, five and six singles to pull out the win.

Both Gabrielle Demchenko and Julie Fusik were double winners on the day as they both emerged victorious in singles action and teamed up for a decisive 8-1 win at second doubles.

Ferris State will wrap up a three-match homestand by hosting Lake Superior State on Saturday (Sept. 21) starting at 11 a.m. (ET) in Big Rapids.
