Women's Tennis Stays Unbeaten In Spring Action By Winning Home Encounter
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team picked up its second win of the spring in as many outings as the Bulldogs rolled over visiting Olivet Nazarene by a score of 7-2 on Friday (Feb. 27) evening at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center in Big Rapids.
The Bulldogs, who improved to 13-5 overall this season, started off the match by sweeping the doubles round and then took four of the six singles flights to pick up the win. It came on the heels of a 7-2 victory over Northwestern Ohio to start spring action last week.
Along with the three doubles positions, Ferris State earned a win at one singles and swept the last three spots in the lineup. ONU's lone wins came at second and third singles, which included a win by retirement at the second position in the lineup.
All four of the wins FSU picked up in singles competition came in straight-sets and the three doubles victories including a pair of decisive 8-2 triumphs.
The Bulldogs wrap up a two-match weekend homestand against Indianapolis in a non-conference regional encounter on Saturday (Feb. 28) starting at 2 p.m. (ET) at the Racquet and Fitness Center.
