Ferris State Caps Unbeaten Weekend With Road Tennis Victory

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team wrapped up an unbeaten weekend as the Bulldogs beat Walsh University 6-3 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) action on Sunday (Oct. 11) at the Klekotka Tennis Complex in North Canton, Ohio.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 2-1 lead following doubles play before taking four of the six singles flights to record the triumph.

The win, which was FSU's second of the weekend after a 8-1 win at Ashland on Saturday, lifted Ferris State to 7-3 overall and in the GLIAC this campaign.

Ferris State's lone double winner was Nicole Meylor, who captured wins at both the ffith singles and third doubles positions. A total of seven different FSU competitors had at least one win on the day.

In doubles action, Ferris State posted victories at both the second and third spots in the lineup. Meanwhile, FSU claimed wins in singles action at the third thru sixth flights.

The Bulldogs wrap up GLIAC regular-season action on Thursday, Oct. 15, as they visit West Michigan rival Grand Valley State for a 4 p.m. (ET) league tilt. FSU then heads to the GLIAC Tournament set for Oct. 23-25 in Midland.
