Ferris State Women's Tennis Drops Heartbreaker To Tarleton State
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis squad dropped a close 5-4 decision to Tarleton State (Texas) as the Bulldogs opened their annual spring break action on Sunday (March 6) in Florida.
Tarleton State, which is ranked seventh in the South Central Region, pulled out a close decision as the Bulldogs lost the heartbreaker at the Lake Cane Tennis Center in the Sunshine State.
The match was the first of four for the Bulldogs in Florida this week with FSU returning to action on Tuesday (March 8) against Charleston (W.Va.) in Tampa at 10:30 a.m. (ET).
The Bulldogs took two of the three doubles flights in Sunday's encounter with wins at the second and third positions. However, Tarleton State came back to sweep the top three singles flights and also recorded a victory at the fifth spot en route to the win.
With the loss, the Bulldogs dropped to 13-6 overall this camapign.
