Big Rapids, Mich. - Two Ferris State University women's tennis student-athletes recently were named to the 2016 All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) team following the completion of the fall campaign.

Bulldog junior Teodora Stefanovic (Nis, Serbia) received All-GLIAC Second Team recognition with sophomore Nicole Meylor (Wauwatosa, Wis./West) earned GLIAC Honorable Mention recognition as announced by the league office following voting by conference head coaches.

This fall, Stefanovic competed at the number one singles and doubles positions in her first campaign with the Bulldogs and won six singles contests along with three doubles outings. Meanwhile, Meylor played in the middle of the FSU lineup and went 8-5 in singles competition while notching six doubles victories.

The Bulldogs wrapped up the fall campaign with an 8-6 overall record after falling to Grand Valley State in the third place match at last weekend's GLIAC Tournament held at the Greater Midland Tennis Center in Midland, Mich.`

Ferris State had beat fifth-seeded Saginaw Valley State on Friday night in round one before falling to top-seeded and eventual champion Northwood in Saturday's semifinals prior to the setback in the third-place encounter.

Last weekend's tournament and Sunday's encounter marked the final match for the Bulldogs under head coach Chad Berryhill, who departed for a new opportunity in Florida.

Ferris State will return to the court in the spring with the first scheduled match a non-league tilt versus Aquinas on Sunday, Feb. 26, in Grand Rapids. Current assistant coach Danny Hunt will serve as the Bulldogs' interim head coach during the spring season.
