Maryville Holds On To Beat Ferris State In Women's Tennis Regional Crossover

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis squad dropped a 7-2 decision to Maryville in regional action on Saturday (March 18) at the 2017 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC)/Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Crossover in Plainfield, Ill.

Maryville jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the doubles round with wins at all three flights in the lineup.

Ferris State managed to pull out victories at the third and fourth singles positions from Nicole Meylor and Arien Kissinger, respectively, but Maryville garnered wins at the top two flights and bottom two spots to account for the final margin.

Both of FSU's wins in the match came in three sets as a total of four of the six singles flights needed the deciding frame.

With the setback, Ferris State fell to 9-8 overall this season.

The Bulldogs wrap up the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover against Lewis (Ill.) on Sunday (March 19) with match time set for 1:30 p.m.
