Ferris State's Agata Klak Named GLIAC Women's Tennis Athlete Of The Week

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University junior Agata Klak (Etobicoke, Ontario) has been chosen as this week's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week.

Klak helped lead the nationally 19th-ranked Bulldogs to their first conference women's tennis championship since 2002 as FSU stretched its win streak to 13 consecutive matches and stayed unbeaten in league play.

Since last Tuesday, Klak has recorded a perfect 4-0 singles mark at either the third or fourth flight in four matches, including big road wins at Northwood and Grand Valley State. Additionally, she also went 3-1 in doubles action at the number one flight in the lineup for a 7-1 overall mark on the week.

FSU capped the week with back-to-back league road victories at Lake Superior State and Michigan Tech over the weekend, securing the top seed for the league tournament and the program's first regular-season championship in 19 years.

Ferris State will take on eighth-seeded Saginaw Valley State in the quarterfinal-round of the GLIAC Tournament starting on Friday (April 23) at 2:30 p.m. (ET) outside or 6 p.m. (ET) if played indoors due to weather in Midland.

The semifinals are on Saturday with the league tournament championship set for Sunday.
