Ferris State Tennis Teams Sweep Walsh In Regional Home Action
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's tennis squads closed out a weekend of regional home action with a sweep on Saturday (March 16), topping Walsh at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center.
The Bulldog men captured a 7-0 win over the Cavaliers while the women earned a 6-1 decision against Walsh.
In the men's encounter, Ferris State took the doubles point and came away with wins in all six singles flights. FSU took two of the three doubles spots and five of the six singles matches were determined in straight-sets.
The Bulldogs swept the doubles round for the first point in the women's contest and FSU then won five of six singles flights with all five wins coming in straight-sets. Walsh's lone victory was a three-set decision at five singles.
Both Ferris State teams will open Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play on the road at Davenport on Friday, March 22. Match time is set for 11:30 p.m. (ET).
