Big Rapids, Mich. - The 2011 Ferris State University volleyball team will celebrate a memorable campaign by holding its annual postseason awards banquet on Sunday, Jan. 8, at CK's Banquet Hall located on Northland Drive in Big Rapids.

During the event, FSU will honor its 2011 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship team that reached the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Semifinals and posted a 27-4 overall record.

The banquet will begin at 2 p.m. (ET) and run until approximately 5 p.m. (ET).  CK's Banquet Hall is located at 11515 Northland Drive in Big Rapids.

The event will include a buffet meal, individual and team postseason awards, a senior presentation along with a season highlight film.

All Bulldog fans and parents are invited and encouraged to attend the annual event. The cost is $20 per person. Parents and fans are asked to please RSVP by email or phone prior to the banquet so the proper arrangements can be made.

Those wishing to attend should please call the FSU Volleyball Office at (231) 591-2871 or email either coordinator of operations Robin Young (youngr18@ferris.edu) or head coach Tia Brandel-Wilhelm (brandelt@ferris.edu).  A check for the correct amount made payable to Ferris State Volleyball can then be sent to the Bulldog Volleyball Office (210 Sports Drive, Big Rapids, MI, 49307) or paid at the door after the initial RSVP is made.

Ferris State wrapped up the 2011 campaign by reaching the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Semifinals this past month.  FSU won the GLIAC North Division with an 18-1 conference mark and finished as league co-champions during the 2011 campaign.  The Bulldogs also achieved their highest national ranking in more than 20 years this season.
