Bulldog Volleyball Inks Clarkston's Kaley Konjarevich

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's volleyball program has landed yet another talented prep student-athlete as outside hitter Kaley Konjarevich (Clarkston) has announced her intentions to join the Bulldogs for the 2013 season.

The 5-11 Konjarevich was an all-conference and all-region honoree as a junior for Clarkston High School during the 2011 campaign before missing part of her senior season due to injury.  She totaled 422 kills and 469 digs as the Wolves posted a 56-6 overall mark in the 2011 season.

"Kaley is a smart player with quite a bit of experience in volleyball," said FSU head coach Tia Brandel-Wilhelm.  "She's definitely a winner and knows how to be successful.  We're excited to have her joining our program.

"She's coming off an injury, but if she can stay healthy will make a strong impact early in her career," she added.

A team captain, Konjarevich helped CHS to three-sraight league and district crowns in her prep career.  The squad won the 2011 regional championship as she led the way with 71 service aces and was first in total attacks with 1,179 on the year under head coach Kelly Avenall.

In addition to her prep volleyball experience, Konjarevich has also played at the club level for the SuperNOVA Volleyball program.  She was a member of the Lakeshore High Performance Team in 2009 and 2010.

The daughter of Frank and Kimberly Konjarevich, Kaley plans to major in graphic design at Ferris State.

Ferris State wrapped up the 2012 campaign with a 24-8 overall record and reached the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Semifinals for the second consecutive year.  FSU also posted a 16-2 mark in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) North Division play and came within a single victory of claiming a second-straight conference championship.  The Bulldogs have advanced to the NCAA Tournament three of the last four years to date.
