Challenging Spring Schedule Awaits Three-Time Defending GLIAC Champion Ferris State Volleyball

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's volleyball program begins its quest for a fourth-straight Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship with a challenging spring schedule as announced by FSU head coach Tia Brandel-Wilhelm.

Ferris State will open its spring action on Friday, March 17, at home against NCAA Division I Central Michigan starting at 4 p.m. (ET) inside the Ewigleben Sports Arena.

Along with the home tilt, the Bulldogs will also visit Division I Western Michigan on April 1 for an all-day event before playing various opponents throughout the day on April 8 at the Dunes in Indiana.
FSU will then close out its 2017 spring schedule with an outing at incoming GLIAC member Davenport on April 13 from 3-6 p.m. (ET) in Grand Rapids.

Per NCAA regulations, no official scoring or results will be publicized from the spring competitions.

This past fall, the Bulldog volleyball squad, which made the school's sixth-straight and 21st overall NCAA Tournament appearance, finished the 2016 campaign with a 30-6 overall record. FSU won its third-straight GLIAC Regular-Season Championship and claimed the school's third consecutive GLIAC Tournament title while earning the right to host the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Tournament where FSU finished as the regional runner-up.

This past year marked the 15th time in 21 seasons under Brandel-Wilhelm in which FSU Volleyball has claimed at least 20 victories in a campaign. The Bulldogs also made their 19th consecutive GLIAC Tournament appearance during the 2016 campaign. Brandel-Wilhelm earned AVCA Midwest Region Coach of the Year honors for the second year in a row.

Ferris State will begin its 2017 fall season when camp begins in early August.
