Ferris State Volleyball Announces Spectator Information And Changes For Weekend Home Matches

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's volleyball squad will play its final two regular-season home matches this weekend (April 2-3) and fan and spectator information has been announced.

The Bulldogs will host Saginaw Valley State on back-to-back days on Friday and Saturday with both matches being moved to FSU's Jim Wink Arena in order to accommodate a limited number of fans. Friday's opening match gets underway at 7 p.m. (ET) and Saturday's finale has been pushed back one hour to a 4 p.m. (ET) start due to other home Bulldog home events the same day.

The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) president's and chancellors recently approved a new policy for the spring sports season, allowing (based on each institution's ability to meet the required Gliac protocols) institutions only four tickets per student-athlete for the home volleyball team only.  Each institution can also impose greater restrictions if they desire or if they are unable to meet the protocols established by the Gliac.

In addition, institutions must establish a 20-foot separation between the field of play and spectators and all fans must wear masks and follow appropriate social distancing guidelines.

Based on the GLIAC protocols and the Bulldogs' facility setup, only the fans included on the official team list will be allowed for this weekend's Ferris State home volleyball matches and all fan seating will be on the north side of Jim Wink Arena. The south side will be closed for team access only. Seating will be limited and all fans must remain off of the playing surface due to the proximity of the field of play.

Masks are required per GLIAC and University guidelines and all fans should maintain a six-foot distance with anyone beyond their immediate household members.  Anyone not complying with these protocols will be asked to leave the premises. Admission will be free.

The Bulldogs are currently 8-4 overall and in GLIAC action entering the weekend and coming off back-to-back conference road sweeps at Parkside this past weekend. The two matches are the final two regular-season contests for the Bulldogs prior to the GLIAC Tournament set for April 9-11.
