Ferris State Volleyball Stays Perfect In GLIAC With Road Sweep At Michigan Tech

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's volleyball squad stayed perfect in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play as FSU began a three-match weekend road trip to Michigan's Upper Peninsula with a convincing 3-0 sweep on Friday (Sept. 16) evening over Michigan Tech in Houghton.

The Bulldogs claimed their fifth consecutive victory by taking a 25-14, 25-18, 25-19 win at MTU's Student Development Complex Gymnasium. FSU also moved to 3-0 in GLIAC play.

Ferris State had only 13 attack errors for the match and hit .306 overall with sophomore setter Kaylee Maat totaling 36 assists in directing the offense.

The Bulldogs got a team-high 15 kills from Claire Nowicki with Olivia Henneman-Dallape totaling 14 kills for FSU. Syann Fairfield added seven kills for the Bulldogs.

Defensively, libero Leah Bylut compiled 20 digs for the Bulldogs with both Alina Anderson and Emma Bleecher notching eight each.

Maat also added a match-high seven service aces in the win.

Ferris State compiled 43 kills to go with 47 digs, 11 aces, 10 block assists and a solo block at the net.

No one had more than six kills for Michigan Tech and the Huskies were held to a .143 hitting figure.

The Bulldogs will next take on Northern Michigan on Saturday (Sept. 17) beginning at 3 p.m. (ET) in Marquette.
