Ferris State will be making its 12th consecutive NCAA Tournament bid, not counting the 2020 season in which no event was held due to COVID-19, and has advanced to at least the regional semifinals 10 of the past 11 years. FSU's upcoming regional appearance will represent the program's 27th all-time as the Bulldogs have compiled a 23-27 overall record in NCAA Tournament competition.

Ferris State, which is coached by 28th-year head coach Tia Brandel-Wilhelm, is presently 25-7 overall this campaign and won the 2023 GLIAC Tournament Championship on Sunday (Nov. 19), beating rival Grand Valley State 3-1 on the Lakers' home floor in Allendale to earn the program's 10th league tourney title in school history and ninth in the past 10 seasons.

The Bulldogs finished the regular-season as the GLIAC Runner-Up with a 15-3 league mark.

The Division II Women's Volleyball Committee selected a total of 64 teams to participate in the 2023 Division II Women's Volleyball Championship. Eight teams were selected from each of the following eight regions: Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West.

The eight, eight-team regionals will be played at on-campus sites. Regional competition will be single-elimination, best three-of-five-set matches and will not include a third-place match. The winners of each of the eight regionals will advance to the finals, Dec. 7-9, in Moon Township, Pa. Competition at the finals site will be single-elimination; best three-of-five-set matches.
