Ferris State Cross Country Teams Close Out Fall Season At NCAA Regional Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's cross country squads wrapped up the fall season at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championships on Saturday (Nov. 4) at Angel Mounds Cross Country Course in Evansville, Ind.

The NCAA Regional Championships were hosted by the Great Lakes Valley Conference and the Evansville Sports Commission.

The Bulldog women placed 12th overall in the region with 375 total points while the men's squad came in 17th overall with 478 total points. More than 30 teams competed in both divisions.

Ferris State was led by junior Hanna Brock in the women's 6K race as she clocked 21:45.3 in the race. Daisy Englund came in 70th (22:07.8) with Whitney Farrell 76th (22:13.3). FSU's Becci Castillo placed 86th (22:28.5) and Danae Feldpausch finished 104th (22:45.2) in leading FSU.

On the men's side, sophomore Cooper Sorsen led the Bulldogs in 58th place with a time of 32:19.0 on the 10K course. Brendan Cairney came in 89th (33:02.8) with Ryan Ososki 92nd (33:06.4). Ferris State's Brandon Wirth placed 120th (33:38.2) and Noah Griffith wound up 123rd (33:45.0) among FSU's top five runners in the regional event.

The competition wrapped up the fall slate for the Bulldogs, who will now turn their attention to the winter indoor track and field season starting soon.
