Ferris State Volleyball Cruises To League Road Victory At Northwood

Midland, Mich. - The nationally-ranked Ferris State University women's volleyball squad took down the Northwood University Timberwolves in Saturday (Oct. 28) afternoon action by a 3-1 score in Midland.

The Bulldogs' pulled past the Timberwolves by scores of 25-20, 25-20, 24-26 and 25-18 en route to the victory. 
 
Sophomore outside hitter Allyson Cappel and senior middle hitter Ayanna Buckley led the team with 16 kills apiece in the road win. Senior middle hitter Maria Kronner had eight kills while junior outside hitter Courtney Brewer finished with six kills. 
 
Sophomore setter Maeve Grimes had 49 assists while junior outside hitter Katie Placek, sophomore outside hitter Mekayla Carey and Cappel also each had an assist.
 
Senior libero Lauren Reminga had 18 digs for the night defensively with Brewer close behind her with 17 digs overall. Cappel and Placek also had 12 and 11 digs apiece, respectively. 
 
Ferris State finished with a total of six aces with Grimes netting three and Reminga, Cappel and Placek each with one. 
 
The Bulldogs totaled 54 kills with a .235 hitting percentage to go with 52 assists, 75 digs, nine blocks and six aces for the victory.
 
The Timberwolves had 46 kills with a .100 hitting percentage, 45 assists, 73 digs, seven blocks and five blocks in the loss.

With the win, Ferris State improved to 17-6 overall and 10-2 in the GLIAC. The win came in FSU's lone outing of the week.

Ferris State will return home on Friday (Nov. 3) for a 7 p.m. (ET) league match against the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals at the Ewigleben Sports Arena in Big Rapids.
